A step back in time

It's been years since I've been in Plymouth... a bizarre set of circumstances had an ex-Welsh miner living in Bath end up with his claim being heard in Plymouth... initially it was Exeter, but at the last minute it was transferred to Plymouth. It's been about 13 years since I was last in Plymouth - visiting one or other of my brothers who were at university there.

It's changed significantly... but there are parts of the old centre which remain the same - all the 1950's concrete - much like all those places which were flattened in the 1940's.

Anyway the Imperial Hotel is a little gem not far from the Hoe... very relaxed and pleasant small family run establishment... recommended...

Anyway the hearing was the 24th... and despite the most pessimistic assessment of the case and against the thoughts of counsel... we won the case.... should I really be happy that another Claimant has been denied compensation??

Away from home

Swansea in the rain isn't pretty, my comfortable hotel room makes up for it.

A day in Sheffield

On Saturday we went to Weston Park Museum the girls had a whale of a time, dressing up as Victorian char ladies and Saxon warriors. Elspeth looked the part cleaning the fireplace...

Jemima's beaming

Jemima loves "in the night garden", especially Macca Pacca... she does a small shuffle with glee when clasping Macca Pacca or Upsy Daisy... she is also hooked on the "Wiz woz"... aka The Wizard of Oz, if the television is on she gets most upset if "Wiz Woz" is not on... the gentle refrain of "Watch Wiz woz ok" becomes more and more fraught the more you say, "No Jemima, you can watch it [later] [tomorrow]" Our response depends on: whether we can stomach it again that day; the time of day; or whether it really is bed time... Her second favoured film is "Sleepin Booty"... which has been seen as many times and is becoming increasingly irksome... Snow Why" was one of the videos at the cottage and was watched a few times. Having bee told that she cannot watch either "Wiz Woz", or "Sleeping Booty" today she is now asking for "Snow Why"....

On Friday night I en[dured]joyed "Wiz Woz" twice before Jemima finall fell asleep [being rocked in her push chair, and feeding her dolly at the same time as watching the Tin Man do his thing.... " - oh around 4am on Saturday morning... :-)

anyone know anything I can give her to induce sleep at around 8pm which will take her all the way through to about 7am??
